Sugarloaf Ascension Sculpture Ribbon Cutting Recap

Sugarloaf Ascension Sculpture Ribbon Cutting Recap

The Sugarloaf Community Improvement District held a ribbon cutting on September 16, 2025 to celebrate the completion of the Sugarloaf Ascension Sculpture as a welcome to Gwinnett’s downtown.

The stainless-steel sculpture, located at the corner of Sugarloaf Parkway and the Interstate 85 southbound exit ramp, is 37 feet tall and highlights the district as a center where business, entertainment, culture, and the arts intersect.

We’d like to thank sculptor Gregory Johnson, construction administrator Huie Design, and Integrated Sign & Graphic Inc., who formed the team to create this amazing work of art. We’d also like to thank Gwinnett County for their partnership in celebrating the ribbon cutting and Brand Properties for hosting the event!
